How our content is written, reviewed, and corrected

You're trusting FirstPassPA to prepare you for the exams that decide your career. That deserves a straight answer about where our content comes from, who checks it, and what happens when something is wrong. Here it is.

How questions are written

Every question in FirstPassPA is authored for FirstPassPA — we don't license or repackage another company's question bank. Questions are written to mirror the style and difficulty of NCCPA board items: clinical vignettes, single-best-answer format, and answer choices built the way real exam items are built.

Every question is clinically reviewed and edited by Ryan Busch, PA-C before publication, and every question is mapped to the current NCCPA content blueprints by organ system and task area — the PANCE Content Blueprint effective January 2025 and the PANRE/PANRE-LA Content Blueprint effective January 2023.

How AI is used

We use AI tools in our content pipeline, and we'd rather tell you exactly how than pretend we don't:

• AI assists with drafting and consistency checks — generating first drafts, flagging formatting problems, and auditing the bank for issues like answer-length bias or cueing language at a scale no individual reviewer could match.
• Every published question and explanation is reviewed by a practicing PA-C before it reaches you. Nothing ships on the model's word alone.
• Clinical accuracy is the clinician's responsibility, not the model's. If a question is wrong, that's on us — and we fix it (see error reporting below).

Clinician review & currency

Medicine moves, and board answers move with it. Here is what we actually do about it: every question is clinically reviewed by Ryan Busch, PA-C before publication; we run automated answer-length and bias audits across the bank plus AI-assisted review for cueing language and rationale leakage, and the clinician re-reviews the items they flag; and when a reader reports a guideline change or an error, the item is re-checked against current specialty-society guidance and corrected. We do not currently run a scheduled, bank-wide guideline audit — corrections happen item by item, driven by review and reports. Our diagnosis outlines carry per-topic references so you can see what a summary is based on.

Error reporting & turnaround

No question bank is error-free — including ours. What matters is how fast errors get found and fixed:

• In the app: every question has a built-in "🐛 Report a problem" button. Use it — reports go straight to our review queue with the question attached.
• On public pages: email support@firstpasspa.com with the page and the issue.

Every report is surfaced to the clinical reviewer in a daily digest. Confirmed errors are fixed on report; there is no fixed turnaround promise, but the most recent fixes shipped within about a day.
